A little About Me
Hello! I’m Bunty and I live between Lincoln and North Devon with my husband Ed and our three sons. As a family of water enthusiasts, we spend our school holidays immersed in nature and can often be found surfing, body-boarding, and hiking along the rugged North Devon coastline.
Having grown up near the North Devon coast, my sense of connection to the sea has deepened over the years and perhaps more so since the children have inherited their own love and fascination of the water.
It was in my 30’s that I found myself returning to the ocean with fresh eyes, newly entranced by its beauty, calm, and power-especially its remarkable ability to rejuvenate the mind.
This reverence for the sea spills into my creative work, where I aim to capture not just the ocean’s physical presence, but the emotional experience of being near it.
My paintings are quiet testaments to that vastness- pieces that aim to evoke the awe and wonder we feel when standing before something so much greater than ourselves.
It’s a sentiment my eldest son captured perfectly while gazing out from a clifftop view near the Valley of the Rocks. “Looking out to the sea makes me feel so small,” he said.
And don’t we all feel that way?
It is this quiet, humbling sense of awe which I hope to share through my art. A little piece of home that can remain with you, wherever life takes you!
