Bunty Morton Art Atmospheric Landscapes Painting The Quiet Drama Of Land, Sea & Sky

Bunty Morton Art Sat At A Table In Front Of An Atmospheric Landscape Painting Drinking Coffee

Hello, I’m Bunty

and I live with my husband Ed and our three boys. We’re a family of water lovers, and most school holidays you’ll find us surfing, bodyboarding or hiking in North Devon.

Having grown up along this coastline, the deep-rooted connection to the sea runs through everything I create and has inspired me to pursue my love of impressionist- style painting.

For me, it’s not just about capturing how a seascape looks, but how it feels. Whether in the stillness of the morning light, the ominous thrum of a brewing storm or in the dependable push and pull of the tide, there’s a quiet power in the ocean that always draws me in.

And as my eldest son once said ‘Looking out to the sea makes me feel so small’-  I think there is something so relatable to that overwhelming sense of awe the sea conjures within us. A quiet sense of reverence, of being humbled by something vast and timeless.

It’s my hope to share a sense of that same wonder in my paintings and to invite the viewer to rest in a momentary pause of calm and connection.

The Dark Coast Collection

CHAOS & CALM
£350.00

Acrylic on canvas

Dimensions 90cm x 65cm

My first painting in a series exploring the connection to water and the immersive experience of hours spent gazing at waves rolling and crashing against the North Devon shores. This emotional seascape  evokes a moment suspended in time, somewhere between chaos and calm and inviting the viewer to explore the idea of standing on the edge of something vast and unpredictable.

IMMINENCE
£350.00

ACRYLIC ON CANVAS

DIMENSIONS: 50cm x 40cm

A moment of suspense as the dusk collapses into the night. In this work Bunty explores the imminence of a storm set against the steady encroachment of long, dark hours to come. This painting evokes a brooding tension, a meditation on nature’s rhythm and our place within its unfolding.

EDGE OF LAND
£175.00

ACRYLIC ON CANVAS

DIMENSIONS: 50cm x 40cm

Capturing the quiet intensity of a coastal landscape just after rainfall, where the sky, sea and land meet in a soft defiance of separation. Bunty relies upon muted tones and textured brushwork to evoke a raw stillness and the almost ghostly hush that follows a storm.
